Mayor Woodfin addresses subpoena of his wife’s business in Birmingham data center legal case.

Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin has publicly defended his wife, Kendra Woodfin, after her real estate company, Iron City Premier Realty, was named in a lawsuit concerning a controversial data center. In a Facebook statement, Woodfin refuted allegations linking his wife to the property transactions in question, stating she was not involved in any related activities. He expressed outrage at what he termed “a bald-faced lie” and accused attorneys of intentionally dragging his wife’s business into the dispute to generate negative headlines.

Woodfin emphasized that his wife is a private citizen and does not participate in municipal decision-making processes like zoning or permitting. He plans to pursue legal action to protect her reputation, asserting that she should not be collateral damage in political conflicts tied to his role as mayor. The case, initiated by homeowners against several entities related to the data center, is currently in the discovery phase with a non-jury trial scheduled for March 2027.
