US Senators Postpone Initiative to Enact a Permanent Ban on Chinese Vehicles

Two U.S. senators, Republican Bernie Moreno and Democrat Elissa Slotkin, are postponing their effort to achieve a fast-tracked Senate approval for a permanent ban on Chinese cars in the U.S. They aim to secure the support of Senator Rand Paul, who has expressed reservations about the legislation. Originally, they planned to seek unanimous approval on the same day President Trump met with China’s President Xi Jinping, but they now plan discussions with Paul over the weekend to address his concerns.
