Artemis II Mission Astronauts Visit Stennis Space Center

The astronauts explored the facility where crucial testing of the hardware for their lunar journey was conducted.

- Fred Haise Test Stand: The crew toured the test stand where RS-25 rocket engines were rigorously tested to ensure crew safety during flights.
- Appreciation for Workers: Stennis officials shared a message on social media, emphasizing that everyone involved, from the largest rocket propulsion test site down to backyard stargazers, contributes to America’s moon return journey.
Rocket Testing:
The Stennis Space Center remains instrumental in testing rockets for the Artemis missions, with the final Artemis III rocket having recently shipped to Kennedy Space Center for integration into the launch system.
Additional Stop:
The astronauts also visited the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans East, which plays a vital role in NASA’s rocket production pipeline.
