HARMAN Appoints Dr. Thomas Irawan as Chief Operating Officer, Automotive

HARMAN International, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Irawan as Chief Operating Officer and President Designate for HARMAN Automotive, effective October 1, 2026. This leadership change aims to bolster HARMAN’s capabilities in delivering AI-enabled automotive experiences.

Key Highlights of Dr. Irawan’s Role:

  • He will oversee the daily operations and business performance of HARMAN Automotive.
  • Dr. Irawan will also be part of HARMAN’s Senior Leadership Team, progressively taking on full operational responsibilities.

Dr. Irawan’s Background:

  • Previously served as President and Chairman at ETAS, focusing on automotive software and middleware.
  • Held senior roles at Bosch, with a strong background in software-defined vehicle technologies and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Dr. Irawan’s leadership will include responsibilities for HARMAN Automotive’s various sectors, including Intelligent Cockpit, Car Audio, Connectivity, and Automotive Engineering Services. He looks forward to enhancing customer partnerships and improving the driving experience.
