Glenview’s Oil Lamp Theater Finds Bigger Venue for Relocation

Oil Lamp Theater in Glenview plans to relocate to a new building, hoping to open by 2028. Initially, the theater intended to move across the street but is now shifting to the former Ten Ninety Brewing Co. site on Waukegan Road, which will require less construction. The new location is closer to their academy and offers better visibility and parking.

Executive Director Jay Pastucha emphasized that this move aligns with their $5 million “Light the Way” campaign, aimed at expanding seating from 60 to about 150, as well as enhancing stage and backstage facilities. The theater’s mission to retain its community-focused atmosphere remains central to its growth strategy. Fundraising has resumed following the new site decision, as the new building’s robust infrastructure presents a financially sound opportunity for the organization.
