Logan High to Unveil New Learning and Reading Area in Tribute to Dedicated Educator Wilma Zigmond

Logan High School is set to unveil a new space dedicated to studying, research, and reading, which will honor the legacy of Wilma Zigmond, a prominent figure in the community. The initiative stems from student requests for a study-friendly environment, where they can access physical books and technology while feeling comfortable to focus on their studies.

Senior Shelby Mullins, a member of the Principal Advisory Council, expressed the value of physical reading for better retention of information. Principal Zach Anderson echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of a welcoming atmosphere to inspire students to engage with their work.

The new space aims to be multifunctional, providing resources for test preparation, homework, and projects. Zigmond’s name is chosen to commemorate her contributions to both academics and civic life in Logan County. Mullins reflected on Zigmond’s dedication to the community, emphasizing her significance to Logan High School.
