Times Travel, an immersive journey showcasing the rich history of Times Square in New York City, has opened to the public at One Times Square. This compelling installation features a dvLED network designed by SNA Displays, which has also recently enhanced the building’s exterior video network.
Key Highlights:
- Cellar Crystal Core: Showcases 142 linear feet of LED video walls that guide visitors through a multi-sensory experience.
- Decades of Change: A striking 50-foot concave video screen offering an immersive “taxi cab” view of Times Square’s evolution, both featuring a tight 1.5 mm pixel pitch.
“Times Travel is an incredibly elaborate interactive experience that will be popular with both tourists and locals,” stated Pete Simon, the sales director at SNA Displays. He emphasized the significance of having their technology integrated within such an iconic landmark.
Michael Phillips, president of Jamestown, which owns One Times Square, highlighted that this installation aims to transform the venue into a year-round destination for visitors to celebrate and explore the neighborhood’s history.
SNA Displays provided over 2,700 square feet of video hardware, while Roto contributed design consultation services. Installation was a collaborative effort with AMA Signs and Elevate serving as the operating partner.
