Spotify has launched an innovative beta feature allowing users to create and store AI-generated personal podcasts directly in their library, utilizing a command line tool called Save to Spotify CLI.
Once users install the tool from GitHub and log into their Spotify accounts, they can prompt an AI agent to generate customized audio content. This can include daily news briefings, personalized study guides based on user notes, or tailored travel itineraries. Once produced, these audio files will appear in users’ Spotify libraries alongside their favorite music and podcasts, as reported by News.Az, referencing Macrumors.
According to Spotify, there’s a growing trend of users leveraging AI agents for crafting personalized audio briefings and summaries related to daily tasks, such as preparing for exams or organizing daily schedules.
The feature aims to provide a seamless integration of generated audio across all devices linked to Spotify accounts. Spotify also shared various practical applications for this tool, which include personalized morning briefings that encompass meeting schedules, weather forecasts, and podcast suggestions. Additionally, users can create educational audio series derived from their saved articles and notes.
The beta feature is currently accessible worldwide for both Free and Premium subscribers, though Spotify cautions that certain usage limits may be imposed during the testing phase.
This announcement comes on the heels of Spotify‘s recent integration with Claude, which allows users to link their Spotify accounts with a chatbot for personalized music and podcast recommendations through interactive conversations.
