Geely of China Plans to Launch Car Sales in Canada Next Year, According to the Company

Geely Auto Group, the massive Chinese automobile conglomerate, is set to launch vehicle sales in Canada in early 2027. Competing with established brands like Tesla, BYD, Chery, and Dongfeng, Geely will be part of a quota system allowing 49,000 Chinese vehicle imports in the first year.

While specific models and pricing strategies remain undisclosed, Geely’s entry into the Canadian market—benefited by its ownership of brands like Volvo and Polestar—hints at a strategic approach targeting various market segments. The Canadian government has shifted from a 100% tariff on Chinese vehicles to a quota-based system, aiming to boost competition.

As of now, details on which Geely vehicles will be offered and their price points are still awaited.
