Mystery Travel: A Trend on the Rise
Overview
Mystery travel is becoming increasingly popular, allowing travelers to book trips without knowing the destination until after payment. Companies like Groupon offer surprise getaway packages starting around $199 per person, including airfare and hotel. This trend is particularly appealing given that average airfare reached $405 in late September, approximately $100 more than the previous year.
What to Expect
While travelers won’t know the exact destination upfront, most services gather preferences beforehand and provide destination details prior to departure. Katy Nastro from Flighty suggests that this adds an element of excitement to travel planning.
Cautions
Experts advise that those looking for the ultimate bargain might be better off conducting their own research. Mystery travel can be fun, but it may not always yield the best deals.
