Singapore’s Space SME OculloSpace Achieves Successful Launch of Its Inaugural Rocket, AZAD “The Dreamer”, from Oman

OculloSpace Achieves Milestone with Maiden Flight of AZAD “The Dreamer”

SINGAPORE, Oct. 9, 2026 – Singapore’s OculloSpace has successfully completed the maiden flight of its experimental rocket, AZAD “The Dreamer,” reaching an apogee of 10 km at Etlaq Spaceport in Oman. This achievement follows the company’s earlier success with its first satellite launch six months ago, emphasizing its commitment to advancing space technology.

Mission Overview

The flight, part of the Karman X1 mission, was executed in partnership with Oman-based Stellar Kinetics MCT, alongside international collaborators from Singapore, Oman, and Australia. The two-stage rocket, measuring 4.3 meters and weighing 26 kg, performed well, with telemetry data received throughout the flight. Although the upper-stage parachute did not deploy, mission objectives were largely met, providing critical data for future missions.

Background

Initiated by Dr. Franco Gan, CEO of OculloSpace, the AZADRocket program spans approximately two years of self-funded development. The program retains ownership of its intellectual property and has integrated various international space industry experts, demonstrating a collaborative approach to rocket development.

Future Aspirations

Building on this first success, OculloSpace aims to develop AZAD-2, targeting an ambitious 100 km altitude—recognised as the boundary of space. Looking ahead, the company plans to involve partners and stakeholders in its next phase of development, seeking to facilitate more accessible launch capabilities from the region.

Call for Collaboration

OculloSpace invites discussions with potential investors, industry partners, and research institutions to explore further opportunities in space exploration and technology.
