The developers behind Arc Raiders are enhancing their anti-cheat measures by training in-house AI models to detect cheating. This initiative addresses the growing issue of cheating in online games, especially as titles gain popularity. Aleks, the executive producer, noted that the company has partnered with third-party providers like Denuvo for kernel-level anti-cheat protections and Anybrain’s AI service for detection.
Despite being somewhat secretive about their methods to thwart cheat engine developers, Embody aims to minimize the chances of false bans. They’ve initiated a strict enforcement policy, introducing permanent bans for anyone caught cheating and linking game copies to accounts to prevent cheaters from easily returning.
Additionally, they’re developing hardware bans to deter repeat offenders, which could inadvertently affect innocent players who buy used hardware. The crackdown has been spurred by community complaints, and while the measures may seem severe, the developer is committed to distinguishing between genuine players and cheaters. Overall, Aleks emphasized that while cheating can’t be completely eradicated, they are taking substantial steps to make it more difficult.
