Jaguar has launched its new electric vehicle, the Type 01, following a two-year period marked by controversy over its rebranding. This ambitious all-electric “Grand Tourer” features a design reminiscent of the classic 1960s E-Type, but it comes with a high price tag of £130,000 in the UK and $130,500 in the US.
The Type 01 boasts impressive specifications, including approximately 1000 horsepower, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds, and a range of up to 320 miles at sustained highway speeds. Described as the “most technically advanced, powerful, and aerodynamic Jaguar ever engineered,” this model’s unveiling has sparked a significant public reaction, revealing mixed sentiments.
While some critics liken its design to a blend of a Cybertruck and a Bentley, others, including car journalists, praise its aesthetics.
