RSU and USAO Collaborate to Launch Fast-Track Master’s Program for Computer Science Students

Rogers State University (RSU) and the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) have launched an Accelerated Master’s Program targeting computer science students aspiring to work in cybersecurity.

Through this partnership, eligible USAO computer science majors can earn up to 12 graduate credit hours from RSU during their junior and senior years. These credits will count towards both their bachelor’s degree from USAO and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Policy, Governance, and Training from RSU.

Dr. Rachel Jones, dean of USAO’s School of Science and Kinesiology, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills to better prepare students for the workforce, particularly in response to legislative pressures for quicker workforce readiness.

Students from USAO with a GPA of 3.0 or higher can gain conditional acceptance to RSU’s graduate program, enabling them to achieve both their B.S. and M.S. degrees in less than five years. This initiative aims to save time and reduce costs for students while equipping them with essential skills for their future careers.
