Lancia Gallery Launches in Los Angeles: Celebrating Italian Automotive Design through Fine Art Photography
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 4, 2026 — The Lancia Gallery, a new fine-art automotive photography project launched by entrepreneur and classic-car collector Gordon Fraser in collaboration with photographer Walter Fulbright, opened today in Los Angeles.
The inaugural collection focuses on Fraser’s rare 1973 Lancia 2000 HF Coupé, skillfully photographed within the dramatic concrete architecture of Los Angeles. This project aims to reinterpret automotive photography by centering the Lancia as a significant object of design, emphasizing its form and sculptural qualities against the modernist landscape of Southern California.
Gordon Fraser articulated his vision, stating, “The Lancia itself is a piece of Italian design. The challenge was to create images strong enough to exist independently as art.” This approach shifts the narrative from simply capturing the beauty of the car to exploring its artistry in a unique context.
Key Highlights
-
Featured Car: The Lancia 2000 HF Coupé, designed by Pininfarina and produced in limited numbers, represents a culmination of Lancia’s celebrated design history. Only 1,229 examples were produced.
-
Photographic Evolution: The gallery will release one new photograph weekly, showcasing different interpretations of the vehicle and its relationship with the landscape.
-
Artistic Collaboration: Walter Fulbright emphasizes the project’s intention to move beyond nostalgia, instead focusing on how the refined Italian design interacts with harsher architectural forms of Los Angeles.
-
Art Prints Available: The first work, titled “Under Wraps — No. 01, Los Angeles,” can be purchased as a fine-art photographic print, with pricing starting at $125.
The Lancia Gallery aims to bridge the worlds of automotive design, art, and cultural history, celebrating overlooked design stories in the automotive landscape. By treating automobiles with the same respect as significant architectural works, Fraser hopes to engender a deeper appreciation for vehicles like the Lancia 2000 HF.
