The Baubles & Brews fall market took place at Arrow Studio & Events, showcasing 23 small businesses predominantly owned by women. Organized by Heather Schlein of Lucy & Leigh, the event aimed to unite entrepreneurs who have inspired each other, fostering a sense of community.
Schlein emphasized the camaraderie among vendors, many of whom balance their businesses with full-time jobs. She expressed her hope that visitors would appreciate the strength of community, noting the supportive atmosphere.
Among the vendors, Jillia English shared her journey in ceramics, motivated to pursue her passion rather than work for someone else. Others, like Ashley Day from Wallflower Candle Co., turned hobbies into businesses, while Sarah Barnhart of Green Daisy Soaps combined her interest in soapmaking with academic research in cosmetic science.
The market not only promoted individual businesses but also highlighted the potential for women entrepreneurs to thrive without traditional storefronts. Schlein plans to continue these events, with the next one scheduled for April 3, 2027, asserting that success starts with small steps and support from one another.
