Agile Space Industries Appoints Jason Wright as President
Agile Space Industries, a Durango-based rocket propulsion company, has announced the appointment of Jason Wright as its new president. This newly created role aims to support the company’s growing leadership team, especially as the demand for its rocket engines, fuel tanks, and propulsion components increases.
CEO Chris Pearson stated, “Agile has built tremendous momentum, and the opportunity in front of us continues to grow.” Wright’s extensive experience in propulsion and program leadership makes him an ideal fit as Agile expands its operations.
Rapid Growth and Expansion
According to Pearson, Agile’s revenue has quintupled since 2022, with employee numbers rising from about 50 to 175, including 125 based in Durango. As president, Wright will manage day-to-day operations and oversee sales, marketing, and business development efforts.
Wright’s experience includes collaborations with entities like NASA and the U.S. military, which he believes will enhance Agile’s innovative approach to meeting evolving industry needs. He emphasized the importance of driving operational excellence and maintaining customer commitments.
Future Prospects
Agile plans to leverage a recent $30 million award from the U.S. Department of Air Force and U.S. Space Force’s Strategic Funding Increase program to build complete propulsion systems. Pearson envisions that a significant portion of Agile’s future revenue will derive from these systems, indicating a shift from a startup mentality to that of a scaling company.
The rapidly growing space economy, projected to approach $1 trillion by decade’s end, presents substantial opportunities for Agile Space Industries.
