Sacramento is buzzing this week as thousands of music fans gather for the Aftershock festival, the largest rock festival on the West Coast. While the festival itself is the main event, local businesses are leveraging this influx of visitors by offering special deals for attendees, hoping to showcase what California’s capital has to offer.
Over two dozen businesses are participating in promotions designed specifically for Aftershock ticket holders. For example, Mojo’s in Downtown Sacramento is rolling out food and drink discounts with their “Beforeshock” campaign. Bartender Soren Peterson highlighted the unique opportunity for fans to experience local culture through restaurants and bars.
In Midtown, Foreplay is taking a fun approach by allowing Aftershock attendees wearing festival wristbands to play Guitar Hero for free. The economic impact is expected to be significant, with food, lodging, and entertainment costing visitors thousands of dollars.
Rock & Brews, located next to the festival’s new Camp Aftershock, anticipates a huge surge in business. They’ve hired extra staff and are offering complimentary activities like miniature golf and batting cages for campers. Rory Asay, president of operations, expressed excitement about welcoming visitors and hopes they will return for future trips.
The festival is projected to generate over $35 million in local economic impact, benefiting the city’s economy greatly.
