Astronaut Captures Stunning Views from the International Space Station

By Dean Murray

A NASA astronaut has shared breathtaking imagery from the International Space Station (ISS), showcasing the beauty of Earth and the cosmos.

Astronaut Jessica Meir recently observed the Milky Way galaxy, dramatic lightning strikes, and even fishing boats from space. On September 16, she commented on the stunning views:

“Southern Hemisphere Milky Way galaxy view from the Space Station cupola.”

Meir highlighted a series of images taken with a three-second exposure, which featured vibrant shots of the dense Milky Way and the bright lights of squid fishing boats, identifiable by their signature blue and green hues off the coasts of China, Thailand, and India.

“Look at what the light did now!” she enthused about the captured phenomenon.

The images not only capture the expansive beauty of the universe but also provide a unique perspective of Earth from 250 miles above.
