OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Advertising Venture in Israel

OpenAI has announced the expansion of its ChatGPT advertising services to include Israeli companies, allowing them to utilize the Ads Manager for creating and managing ad campaigns within the chatbot environment. However, this does not imply that Israeli users will start seeing ads immediately; the timeline for ad visibility in Israel has yet to be disclosed as OpenAI is rolling out advertising features separately.

This week, OpenAI began reaching out to advertisers in the region, inviting them to take advantage of the new advertising platform. The Ads Manager is now listed on OpenAI’s website as available for businesses in the Middle East. This self-service tool allows advertisers to set budgets, manage campaigns, and monitor performance.

Israel joins several other Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and more, where advertisers can utilize this platform. OpenAI’s advertising initiative has rapidly evolved since its initial U.S. pilot on February 9, focusing on clearly distinguishing ads from ChatGPT’s responses to enhance user experience.

In recent developments, OpenAI has also expanded its advertising reach to 31 European countries, achieving a substantial revenue milestone within a few months of launching the ads program. The company emphasizes that advertising is just one part of its broader business model, which includes subscriptions and enterprise solutions.
