Two Lafourche Parish Students Accepted into Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts | Announcements

Two students from Lafourche Parish, Nathan Folse and Miliza Saidu from Thibodaux, have officially become members of the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts (LSMSA). They were among 134 new students welcomed during the school’s 44th annual Matriculation Ceremony held on September 4 in Natchitoches.

Selected through a competitive admission process, these students will attend this tuition-free, state-funded residential school aimed at high-achieving Louisiana students. The incoming class consists of 65 sophomores, 68 juniors, and one senior, representing 56% of the state’s parishes.

During the ceremony, new students signed LSMSA’s matriculation book, marking their entry into the school community. LSMSA Executive Director Jason Anderson encouraged them to recognize their potential for growth and leadership.

LSMSA provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in college-level instruction and specialized courses, fostering an environment of academic excellence and collaboration among talented peers from across Louisiana.
