Two Detained Following Disorderly Incident Outside Dewey Beach Establishment | News

Two men from Delaware were arrested in Dewey Beach following a disorderly incident outside the Starboard restaurant. The first man, 24-year-old Ezra Pendleton from Lincoln, was removed from the restaurant after being intoxicated and hostile. Outside, he continued to cause a disturbance, prompting police to intervene.

As officers tried to de-escalate the situation, 22-year-old Oliver Barnes from Milford attempted to calm Pendleton. However, a physical altercation then occurred between them. Pendleton did not comply with police orders, leading to the deployment of a taser, resulting in his arrest. Barnes allegedly interfered during Pendleton’s arrest and was also tasered after refusing to step back.

Investigation revealed Pendleton had made threatening comments towards a security staff member, including references to past violence. Barnes was charged with offensive touching and disorderly conduct and released. Pendleton faced multiple charges, including criminal trespass and terroristic threatening, and was released on a $2,200 bond. No serious injuries were reported.
