Finger light toys recalled due to risk of button cell battery ingestion.

Hundreds of thousands of children’s finger light toys have been recalled due to serious safety risks, including potential swallowing hazards, chemical burns, and even death. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the recall for 179,739 units sold by California-based Cade California Electronic on Amazon between March 2015 and July 2026, priced between $5 and $16.

The toys do not meet safety standards because they contain button cell batteries that can be accessed by children. If ingested, these batteries can lead to severe injuries. Parents are urged to immediately remove the toys from children and return them for a full refund, although there have been no reported injuries so far.

The recalled finger lights come in a box of 50, featuring colors like white, blue, red, and green, with the brand name printed on the packaging. The CPSC advises proper disposal of the hazardous batteries following local recycling guidelines. For further information, including how to return the toys, parents can check the CPSC’s official release or relevant links.
