CARTA plans to transform the rooftop of a downtown Chattanooga parking garage into an arts venue this autumn.

The rooftop of a Chattanooga parking garage will be transformed into an arts space this fall, featuring work from over 40 local artists. Launching as “Search Party” on the Shuttle Park North garage near the Tennessee Aquarium, the project will include interactive installations, live performances, and hands-on experiences.

Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly expressed excitement about the unique event, stating, “we’ve never seen an event like this in a downtown parking garage, but that’s the beauty of Search Party.” The initiative aims to create a community space with some ticketed events, commencing with “The Call” on the weekend of October 9-10. This ticketed event will offer an immersive dance experience, music, and light, with drinks from Broad’s Lounge.

General admission tickets are priced at around $28. CARTA CEO Charles Frazier noted that Search Party reflects the agency’s broader mission beyond transportation. Future events and community programs are planned, supported by various local foundations and organizations.
