Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming Take Aim at Problem Gambling
Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming have expanded the Players Edge responsible gambling program in time for the Responsible Gambling Education Month (RGEM). This initiative includes a new awareness campaign, a pilot for a digital health app, and additional research partnerships, all aimed at enhancing consumer protection and reducing stigma around gambling issues.
The program seeks to provide players with tools and resources for informed decision-making about their gaming habits. Emphasizing player education, it includes staff training to better identify signs of problem gambling.
A key feature of the initiative is the introduction of the “Chance” campaign, which counters the belief that gambling outcomes can be predicted or influenced. The campaign emphasizes that while players cannot control chance, they can manage how they play.
In addition to this initiative, the Almond Digital Health App is being tested at Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, expanding Players Edge into the digital space. Moreover, the companies are engaged in various partnerships, including participation in the Better Gambling Forum and collaboration with Dr. Michael Wohl at Carleton University on research into gambling-related issues.

He emphasized that through Players Edge, the companies are committed to innovative education, research, and training initiatives that promote positive gambling behavior while enhancing support for guests in need.
Players Edge is designed to cater to all types of gamblers, from newcomers to seasoned players, ensuring a comprehensive approach to responsible gaming year-round, not just during a specific month.
