Astro Fest at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
Join us for Astro Fest, an exciting celebration of astronomy on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 AM to noon! This annual event promises space-themed fun for all ages at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.
What to Expect:
- Interactive Activities: Engage with the Museum’s Astronomy Programs staff and volunteers for hands-on learning about astrophysics, the solar system, and beyond.
- Expert Demonstrations: The UCSB Physics Circus and various local astronomy enthusiasts will be present to share their knowledge.
- Observatory Experiences: Weather permitting, attendees can safely observe the Sun through solar telescopes at Palmer Observatory, featuring live views of solar activity.
Highlights:
- Special astronomy activities hosted by junior scientists from the Central Coast’s Girl Scout Astronomy Club and the Santa Barbara Astronomical Unit.
- Showtimes at the Gladwin Planetarium: 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and noon—tickets available at the planetarium 20 minutes prior to each show.
