Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down State Route 347 in Hauppauge
All lanes of State Route 347 are closed near its intersection with Route 111 in Hauppauge following a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday morning, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The crash occurred around 9:45 a.m., prompting police to close the road in both directions between Route 111 and Sequoia Drive—approximately an 1,100-foot stretch—about half an hour later. The cause of the crash remains unclear.
Multiple drivers were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, but it is still uncertain if there were any serious injuries. The exact number of vehicles involved in the crash is also not confirmed, with reports suggesting it could be between three and five.
