STEM Saturday at the Atomic Museum in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Families gathered at the Atomic Museum on Saturday for “STEM Saturday,” a free, hands-on science event designed for kids. Sponsored by the Nevada National Security Site, this month’s session focused on electromagnetism through interactive experiments.
The first 60 children, along with their families, enjoyed free admission to explore the museum following the activities. Organizers aim to ignite interest in STEM and local science history, making it easier for parents to engage their children in learning.
Kenna Anderson, community engagement manager for the Nevada National Security Site, emphasized the excitement of having kids participate and learn. “They learn new stuff and then they can go through the museum to see how we all got here,” she noted.
The events have proven popular, with sessions already filling up and creating waiting lists, indicating a strong demand for hands-on science experiences in the valley.
STEM Saturdays are held on the first Saturday of each month during the school year. Families can register via the NNSS Community Engagement page or on the Atomic Museum’s website.
