A&M System Appoints Barton as Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs | Bryan-College Station

Texas A&M University System’s board of regents has officially appointed John Barton as vice chancellor for business affairs, following his role as interim vice chancellor since January. Chancellor Glenn Hegar praised Barton, highlighting his exceptional problem-solving abilities and dedication to public resources.

In this position, Barton will manage offices focused on facilities, construction, risk management, and training. With 39 years of experience in state government and higher education, Barton has a rich background, including overseeing a $10 billion annual budget at the Texas Department of Transportation. His extensive experience equips him well to fulfill the responsibilities of his new role.
