The Lake Charles City Council has approved a new entertainment district at the lakefront, featuring 10 restaurants, a mini amphitheater, and outdoor recreation space. Spearheaded by Chris Lognion of Lognion Investments, the project aims to attract drivers from Interstate 10 to downtown Lake Charles.
Lognion highlighted the area’s untapped potential, citing the 90,000 vehicles that pass by daily without stopping. He believes the development will bring both locals and out-of-state visitors to the area. During a council meeting, Mayor Marshall Simien praised Lognion’s proposal, which came in response to community calls for more dining and nightlife options along the lakefront.
The district is set to offer a variety of local cuisines, including Mexican, Asian, Italian, and Cajun food. Customers will enjoy a digital ordering system using QR codes to facilitate orders from multiple restaurants while seated near various activities or the lake.
Lognion is optimistic that this project will encourage further investments in Lake Charles, especially with upcoming developments like a new bridge and the influx of people from industries such as LNG and SpaceX.
Construction is anticipated to start in 14 months, and interested restaurants and food trucks can apply through Lognion’s website.
