General Motors President Mark Reuss to Receive Automotive Hall of Fame’s Industry Leader Award

The Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn has announced that General Motors President Mark Reuss will be the recipient of the 2026 Industry Leader Award in OEM, presented by Lear.

Recognition of Leadership

Reuss is recognized for his distinguished contributions to automotive manufacturing, product development, engineering, and his impact on the evolution of one of the automotive industry’s most significant companies. The award will be presented during the Automotive News Global Congress in Detroit on September 29, by Lear Corp. President Ray Scott.

“Mark is a tremendous leader,” says Scott. “His drive and passion for great products, along with his bold leadership, have defined his career and left a lasting mark on our industry.”

Following the award presentation, Reuss will participate in a fireside chat with Ray Scott and KC Crain, the president and CEO of Crain Communications, discussing automotive leadership, transformation, innovation, and the industry’s future.

A Career of Influence

Sarah Cook, president of the Automotive Hall of Fame, remarked on Reuss’s qualifications for the award:

“Mark Reuss represents the kind of leadership this award was created to recognize. His influence on product, performance, manufacturing, and the broader direction of General Motors reflects a career of meaningful and lasting impact on our industry.”

Previous recipients of this award include some of the automotive industry’s most influential figures, such as Alan Mulally of Ford, Fujio Cho of Toyota, Dieter Zetsche of Daimler AG, and Carlos Ghosn of the Nissan/Renault Alliance.

Reuss expressed his gratitude saying:

“I’m so thankful to the Automotive Hall of Fame, and to Lear, for the Industry Leader Award. It’s not only a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside some of the industry’s true icons, but it’s also a testament to the great people I’ve worked with for so long at GM. We win as a team, and any success I’ve had in my career is a direct result of the team’s success.”
