Viva La Dough Expands to Manhattan’s Financial District
Viva La Dough is on the rise! Originally a pop-up outside Macy’s Herald Square, this Cholov Yisroel patisserie has opened its fourth storefront in Manhattan’s Financial District, with plans for a fifth location in the works.
From Pop-Up to Four Storefronts in Under a Year
Viva La Dough debuted its first permanent shop on Avenue M in Midwood in December 2025. The popularity of their laminated croissant dough, innovative croissant pizzas, and fruit-shaped mousse pastries catapulted them to social media fame. After opening a location in Borough Park and another in Lakewood, the Financial District storefront marks their rapid expansion, with plans for another Manhattan outlet later this summer.
Their product lineup includes:
- Croissant pizzas (cheese, truffle oil, margarita basil)
- Traditional and specialty croissants
- Visually stunning fruit mousse pastries.
The Brooklyn original earned a 4.9-star rating, thriving on product quality and a charming Parisian cafe ambiance at each location.
Summer Promotion at All Locations
To celebrate their expansion, Viva La Dough is offering a breakfast deal from Monday to Thursday: a sandwich, pastry, and drink (or an omelette or breakfast pizza) for $19.95, available all day.
The FiDi Address’s Challenging Kosher History
The Financial District location at 160 Broadway has seen its share of turnover. After the closure of Milk N’ Honey, the space struggled to find a kosher occupant despite various attempts. The area’s kosher offerings have dwindled, with notable closures including Cafe 11 and Nish Nush. However, Viva La Dough’s approach as a destination-worthy patisserie could reinvigorate the neighborhood’s kosher scene.
