Greenhouse Launches MCP for Governed AI Integration in Hiring Teams

Guided by feedback from design partners such as StubHub and Komodo Health, the Greenhouse MCP introduces a permission-sensitive connection layer for integrating AI tools within the established hiring system.

NEW YORK, May 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Greenhouse, a leading hiring platform, has unveiled the Greenhouse MCP (Model Context Protocol), a novel feature that enables customers to securely connect AI tools directly to Greenhouse. The rollout of the Greenhouse MCP will commence in June, following extensive collaboration with design partners, including StubHub and Komodo Health.

AI agents—software applications that operate autonomously on behalf of users—are transforming the job search landscape. According to Greenhouse’s recent survey conducted with over 2,950 job seekers, 30% are already leveraging AI agents to explore job opportunities, submit applications, and arrange interviews. As candidate behaviors evolve, hiring teams are under increasing pressure to adopt various AI solutions, all while adhering to the existing systems and regulations that guide hiring practices.

However, safely connecting advanced models to sensitive hiring data has posed significant challenges. Many organizations are eager to automate and enhance current workflows, unleash new opportunities across platforms, and explore innovative AI-assisted methods of operating. Implementing such changes outside the existing hiring framework introduces substantial risks. The Greenhouse MCP is specifically designed to meet these needs, providing a standardized, permission-aware method for approved AI tools and agents to integrate with Greenhouse, all within the familiar framework that teams depend on.

“AI should enhance hiring processes rather than undermine them,” stated Meredith Johnson, Chief Product Officer of Greenhouse. “The Greenhouse MCP empowers teams by allowing the integration of AI tools they already utilize while maintaining structured and accountable access within the system of record. Recruiting teams can discover new workflows without disrupting established processes.”

With the Greenhouse MCP, customers gain the ability to:

  • Automate current workflows, including quarterly business reviews, executive hiring summaries, analysis of pipeline challenges, candidate status updates, and offer projections.
  • Utilize conversational prompts to perform high-value actions that were previously challenging, such as conducting intricate analyses across multiple roles, creating comprehensive views that integrate Greenhouse data with HRIS or financial information, and generating compliance-ready audit narratives on-demand.
  • Explore innovative AI-driven experiences, such as internal hiring assistants in Slack or Microsoft Teams, Talent Acquisition Operations agents that maintain clean talent pipelines, and assistants that provide clear answers to complex hiring queries.

“The MCP server democratizes access to recruiting insights,” noted Matt Texeira, Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition at Komodo Health. “The [Greenhouse MCP] beta has been instrumental in delivering impactful pipeline analytics for hiring managers through intuitive dashboard visuals. What once required entire Business Intelligence teams can now be achieved in under 30 minutes. This allows recruiters to have data-driven discussions.”

The Greenhouse MCP embodies the core principles guiding how Greenhouse develops and implements AI across its platform: a structured foundation, governed access, and accountability throughout every stage. Every MCP call is processed through established tools, linked to existing permissions and audit trails, ensuring teams can monitor and manage what is taking place. For customers, this means AI initiatives can advance within a framework that is compliant with security, legal, and regulatory standards.

The initial rollout prioritizes essential elements necessary for safe adoption, including a curated suite of MCP tools, organization-wide controls, permission-sensitive access, rate and safety limits, and comprehensive documentation for self-service integration. Greenhouse plans to continue incorporating customer feedback throughout this initial MCP release phase to guide future enhancements, including stringent guardrails, broader coverage, and additional connections over time.
