Free Pet Microchipping Event This Week
A local community is hosting a free pet microchipping event this week. The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is partnering with Miami Township, the City of Miamisburg, and the Miami Valley Fire District for a drive-thru event titled Chippin’ at the Firehouse on Friday, Oct. 23.
Event Details:
- Time: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Location: Fire Station 51, 10899 Wood Road, Miamisburg.
Pet owners can bring their dogs and cats to receive a free microchip, with no appointment necessary, and you won’t have to leave your vehicle.
The Humane Society emphasizes their commitment to accessible preventive pet care for families, noting they offered nearly 700 free microchips last year, helping more pets reunite with their families.
Brian Weltge, president and CEO of the Humane Society, stated: “Microchipping is a simple, permanent form of identification that can make a tremendous difference when a pet goes missing.”
The event is open to everyone, regardless of residency in Miamisburg or Miami Township. Dogs must be leashed and cats should be in carriers.
