CEO Rob Lynch expressed, “Shake Shack is entering a substantial phase of growth, and laying the right groundwork to support this expansion is our top priority.”
“Project Catalyst enhances the technological and digital capabilities that drive our restaurants while fostering deeper connections with our guests,” he added.
“These investments will enable our teams to work more effectively, improve the guest experience, and position Shake Shack for successful growth towards our goal of 1,500 company-operated locations.”
A critical element of this initiative is the implementation of updated point-of-sale (POS) and kitchen display systems (KDS).
To facilitate this improvement, Shake Shack has partnered with Qu, a cloud-native unified commerce provider, to refine these systems with the aim of boosting speed, order accuracy, and overall kitchen execution.
The company is also introducing its first formal loyalty program.
Project Catalyst includes the creation of a new suite of proprietary AI applications.
These tools will be deployed to enhance restaurant operations, improve guest interactions, and elevate productivity at the corporate level.
Furthermore, Shake Shack is revamping its underlying data architecture.
This upgraded data platform aims to grant faster and more reliable access to operational and customer insights, serving as the foundation for the company’s growing AI initiatives.
Justin Mennen, Shake Shack’s Chief Information and Technology Officer, stated, “Project Catalyst integrates modern restaurant systems, advanced data platforms, and AI-driven capabilities, empowering our teams to operate more efficiently and make rapid decisions.”
