Its caramel and citrus notes are overshadowed by a pronounced bitterness, requiring dilution with milk or cream for a more enjoyable drink. I wouldn’t choose this again unless in a pinch for espresso at home.

This marks my first experience with Peet’s Popping Pearls, which are similar in shape to boba, yet quite different in texture. While they add a burst of sweet flavor, I found the drink to be pricier due to these pearls. The cost difference is minimal compared to a standard iced vanilla latte, although this is the dearest drink on the menu.

Though the pearls contribute a unique touch, they’re less satisfying than traditional boba. Their texture doesn’t deliver the chewiness one expects, merely bursting to release sweetness. Unfortunately, the flavor leans heavily towards milk, diluting the overall experience. Though granted, it’s still preferable to the Popping Pearls latte, but it lacks the richness I found in the hot variant.

Combining espresso, milk, vanilla syrup, and lavender syrup, this drink offers a sweet, floral twist on the classic vanilla latte. As a fan of floral flavors, I found this beverage enjoyable, with a layered complexity beyond just sweetness. However, it is one of the sweetest options among those I sampled, leading me to desire a more balanced ratio of flavors.

This drink does not suffer from the overwhelming milkiness of the latte macchiato, granting it a better standing in the rankings. Yet, among some of the other choices, it does not compete as favorably.

An iced mocha provides a delightful blend of coffee and chocolate flavors, reminiscent of a grown-up chocolate milk. Peet’s sweetened cocoa sauce offers a rich cocoa taste that takes center stage without being overly sweet. However, while it is enjoyable, I found it somewhat unremarkable compared to other options.

The whipped cream is quite generous, which somewhat overshadows the coffee, leading to a less balanced experience. While it’s a nice twist on the classic flavors, it does not leave a lasting impression in comparison to drinks with stronger nuances.

I was excited to try the iced vanilla latte topped with ube Dream Top, given my fondness for ube. Unfortunately, Peet’s offering did not match the vibrant flavors I hoped for. The ube flavor is understated, making it feel more like an afterthought in the drink rather than a star. 

While the cold foam does integrate into the drink over time, it doesn’t deliver the bold flavor profile I desire. The overall taste is pleasant, but it does not strongly evoke ube. Nonetheless, it does offer more nuance than the iced mocha, which is a positive aspect.

An iced caramel latte provides a delightful sweetness that elevates the classic coffee experience. The caramel flavor is nuanced, offering richness without being overpowering compared to the other drinks sampled. This latte struck the right balance for a solid sipper.

While it may not be the most distinctive option, it stands out positively against drinks earlier in the ranking. Overall, the blend of caramel adds an interesting layer of depth, making it a satisfying choice for caramel lovers.

Reaching the top five, the Baridi Cold Brew stands out as the best of Peet’s black drinks. Steeping for 12 hours, it delivers a smooth, enjoyable flavor profile that doesn’t need additional cream or sweeteners. 

This drink exemplifies balance and creaminess without the bitterness often found in other black coffee offerings. If you’re a black coffee enthusiast, this cold brew is a must-try.

This drink is ideal for oat milk fans, as the oats deliver a pleasing mouthfeel without overpowering the coffee’s taste. The addition of honey provides a balanced sweetness, making it a fantastic choice when you’re craving something a bit different. While it’s relatively subtle in flavor, the oat and honey combination adds depth that enhances the overall experience.

Inspired by my love for the hot version, the Iced Havana Cappuccino features sweetened condensed milk, milk foam, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. This drink retains its delightful layers and flavor even when chilled. The sweetened condensed milk adds just the right amount of sweetness, balancing the espresso and cinnamon beautifully.

This option stands out for those seeking a sweeter yet balanced iced coffee experience. Overall, it is a reliable choice that showcases Peet’s ability to craft nuanced flavors.

The Coconut Black Tie is a standout drink, expertly crafted with cold brew iced coffee, coconut syrup, and half-and-half float for a visually appealing presentation. Mixing is essential to achieve a smooth blend of flavors. After incorporating the ingredients, the sweet and creamy coconut taste shines through, resulting in a refreshing beverage.

I appreciated the unique combination with strong flavors, and its price is reasonable given the quality. It’s a refreshing choice perfect for those seeking complexity paired with that delicious coconut flavor.

Taking the top spot is the Iced Pistachio Rose Latte, which maintains the exceptional quality of its hot version. The use of Táche Pistachio Milk enhances its creamy texture while ensuring an authentic pistachio flavor. This latte harmoniously combines the richness of pistachio with the floral notes of rose syrup, resulting in a totally delightful beverage.

The intricacy of flavors and the quality of ingredients justify its price, making it a worthy choice for anyone looking to enjoy a truly satisfying iced coffee experience.
