Hyundai Unveils Electric Vehicle Strategy at Aachen Automotive Conference

Hyundai Motor Group is making strides in developing various vehicle technologies, including electric, hybrid, hydrogen, and extended-range systems, as part of their strategy for future mobility. At the Aachen Automotive Colloquium 2026 in Germany, they emphasized a diverse lineup rather than focusing on a single type of propulsion.

Manfred Harrer, the president of Hyundai’s R&D division, highlighted the importance of connecting various technologies and integrating artificial intelligence into vehicle engineering. The company introduced its “Data Flywheel” system, which utilizes real-time vehicle data and customer feedback for continuous software updates post-production. This approach leverages digital twins and virtual testing processes to innovate R&D.

Hyundai showcased several innovative technologies at the event, including a new hybrid transmission and systems for hydrogen production. They also conducted test drives of the All-New NEXO fuel cell vehicle and the Genesis GV60 MAGMA performance electric model.

The presentations tackled obstacles in hydrogen adoption and advancements in electric power technology. Additionally, Hyundai revealed plans for a significant product offensive aimed at boosting global sales and earnings by 2030.
