Harris County Update: The suspect in the shooting of a Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy is now in custody, as confirmed by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Suspect Details: Chase Layne Patin was apprehended in the vicinity of where search efforts were concentrated. Sheriff Gonzalez expressed gratitude for the teamwork of HCSO and public safety partners, as well as community support during the search.
Incident Overview: The shooting occurred Wednesday night while the deputy was responding to a family disturbance in the 1100 block of Bayou near the East Freeway. The deputy is currently in stable condition at a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Community Support: Sheriff Gonzalez requested continued thoughts and prayers for the injured deputy, their family, and fellow officers. The patrol car related to the incident was found near Dell Dale and East Freeway. Further details will be released later.
