Saranoni, a baby gift basket and luxury blanket company, was founded by Emily Peterson in honor of her daughter Eliza, who was born with microtia. When faced with the high cost of surgery for Eliza, Peterson started the business as a way to support her family and help others. Named after her and her husband’s great grandmothers, Saranoni grew from its humble beginnings in a Logan basement to a beloved brand known for its luxury blankets.
After shifting focus solely to blankets due to their popularity, the company also began giving back through humanitarian efforts, such as assisting women in developing countries. In 2021, the family faced tragedy with the diagnosis of Nathan Peterson, Emily’s husband, with an inoperable brain tumor, leading to his passing in January 2022.
Following Nathan’s death, the family continued their charitable work through Saranoni Cares, donating blankets to cancer patients, which reflects Nathan’s vision of serving others. The Peterson family maintains the tradition of attending local events, bringing community and warmth to their business. Emily emphasizes the importance of comfort and connection during difficult times, showcasing Saranoni not just as a business, but a legacy of love and support.
