Businesses in Cincinnati Prepare for Bengals’ Season Opener
As the Bengals gear up for their season opener this Sunday, local businesses in Cincinnati are also bracing for the influx of fans. For many, this is the most critical time of year.
At The Blind Pig and O’Malley’s in the Alley, excitement is palpable. They anticipate fans will consume 50 beer kegs, double their usual supply. Alex Lenhoff, assistant general manager and chef, mentioned, “All of the beer is down here, and they have to take it upstairs. We probably won’t have much left by the end of next weekend.”
Though there’s no direct view of Paycor Stadium from Koch’s Sporting Goods, Eric Koch explained that the proximity doesn’t matter. “It helps us even though we’re several blocks away. The hotels are full, and restaurants and bars are packed.”
Fans are also getting ready. Jerry Frye from Western Hills believes in the team’s potential this year, sporting a new flat-brim Bengals hat, saying, “I think we’re going all the way this year.”
At The Blind Pig, Lenhoff shared that the team’s struggles have impacted business, particularly on specific nights. But he’s optimistic for the upcoming season due to the electric atmosphere surrounding the Bengals. “The preseason games brought a flux in business. It’s going to be a good year,” he stated.
With high hopes and packed establishments, this Bengals season promises big business for local entrepreneurs.
