Xingyu Automotive expresses regret and implements actions following the dismissal of 107 recent graduates.

In a significant turn of events, Changzhou Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems Company publicly apologized and announced corrective measures after terminating contracts of 107 recently hired college graduates. The company, known for manufacturing automotive lighting, vowed to prioritize employee welfare and improve its human resources practices, including external oversight.

The decision to dismiss these graduates occurred shortly after their hiring, driven by an erroneous workforce restructuring based on order forecasts. Following public backlash, the company has since provided job-seeking subsidies and committed to further salary compensation for affected employees.

Internal disciplinary actions were taken against several executives, including pay cuts and reassignments, reflecting the company’s acknowledgment of its poor judgment during the layoffs. Leaked recordings revealed troubling negotiation tactics, prompting criticism regarding communication failures.

Local human resources authorities quickly responded by organizing job fairs and offering job placements, with many affected graduates rapidly finding new employment opportunities. Founded in 1993 and supplying major automotive brands, the company is also pursuing a dual-listing strategy in Hong Kong.
