Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Declares ‘AGI is Here’ and Extends Congratulations to OpenAI

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently expressed his admiration for OpenAI, specifically congratulating them on their new model, Astra. Huang stated, “AGI has arrived,” referring to artificial general intelligence, which signifies AI systems that can perform tasks at or above human levels. He noted that Astra was trained using Nvidia’s chips.

OpenAI claims Astra is the “most intelligent and aligned model” available, capable of tackling complex professional tasks efficiently. President Greg Brockman welcomed what he termed the “AGI era” and hinted that future observers might identify this moment as a key point in AGI development.

Huang mentioned a significant upcoming addition to Nvidia’s resources, with 400,000 GPUs set to come online, enhancing AI development capabilities. The growing reliance on Nvidia’s technology has significantly boosted its sales, generating $96.2 billion in revenue in the last quarter alone.
