On Tuesday, a historic milestone was reached as the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) soared past the 30,000 mark for the first time. President Trump celebrated this achievement, referring to the figure as “sacred.”

This moment was particularly appreciated by affluent individuals, many of whom were expressing their gratitude during Thanksgiving. For them, four decades of inflationary monetary policies have rendered their wealth almost revered.

In stark contrast, many other Americans felt excluded from these blessings. They are left wondering if they will receive any assistance during the upcoming holiday season. Will Washington ensure a joyful Christmas for struggling families? Could the Treasury distribute another round of $1,200 stimulus checks in time for the celebrations? The fate of Congress: will they embody Ebenezer Scrooge or Mr. Fezziwig?

These pressing questions loom as the year draws to a close. Continue reading

Major news outlets are announcing Joe Biden as the next president of the United States, dismissing claims of election fraud as unfounded. Do you find this credible? Are these organizations trustworthy?

Regardless of opinion, Biden is moving forward confidently. He has begun conversations with foreign leaders, engaged with vaccine manufacturers, and outlined ambitious plans. However, some critics argue that his agenda lacks sufficient progressive values.

Recently, the Justice Democrats have accused Biden of choosing insiders who prioritize corporate interests. They assert that these “corporate-friendly insiders … will not help usher in the most progressive Democratic administration in generations.”

Biden has received numerous suggestions as he prepares for office. Prominent figures like Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer are advocating for Biden to eliminate the first $50,000 of student loan debt, noting that he could achieve this through executive action as opposed to waiting for legislative approval. Will Biden heed their advice? Will he consider the views of progressive icon Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Continue reading

Amid these changes, the stock market rides a roller coaster of emotions, fluctuating between fear and greed. At the start of the week, greed was the prevailing sentiment, as President-elect Kamala Harris—and her allies—seemed poised to make significant changes in Washington. Coupled with the hopeful news of a new coronavirus vaccine, optimism flourished.

On Monday, the DJIA neared the 30,000 threshold once more, while by Wednesday, WTI Crude Oil prices briefly surpassed $42 a barrel, and shares of Chevron showed gains for two consecutive days. However, this wave of enthusiasm quickly dissolved as fear resurfaced.

As people cautiously ventured out of their safe zones, they took stock of their surroundings. What did they encounter? Continue reading

Ok, so, when your pally is a doorstep
Step over him and coat
When your mommy is a French press
In a café called no hope
Your belly aches
On benches where buses never go
Now tally up the misprints
And tell them told you so

The Worst Job In The World

Nothing seems shocking in 2020. There are no surprises in lockdowns, pandemic panic, or election turmoil. The latter was expected all along.

As of this writing, and perhaps aided by dubious circumstances, Kamala Harris appears to be on track to become the next President of the United States. Let’s take a moment to offer our congratulations. Well done, Ms. Harris; you have accepted the most challenging role imaginable.

Indeed, the perks of the presidency have dwindled significantly in recent times. Just ask President Trump—long hours, inadequate pay compared to corporate leaders, and constant interactions with untrustworthy politicians make the role anything but enviable. Continue reading
