How to Reduce Ultraprocessed Food Intake

Recent research indicates that it is possible to decrease consumption of ultraprocessed foods (UPFs). These foods, which encompass packaged items containing refined ingredients like white flour and isolated proteins, as well as various additives, lack many whole ingredients and make up nearly 60 percent of the typical American diet. A high intake of UPFs, particularly when combined with a low intake of healthier options, has been linked to adverse health effects.
