Six dogs were successfully evacuated from the Alabama Gulf Coast ahead of Hurricane Isaias and arrived in Columbus, Ohio, early Saturday morning. The dogs were transported by the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Animal Incident Management team and the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, making a journey that began Friday night from Mobile County Animal Services in Alabama.
The puppies, aged between 5 months and 5 years, include:
– Poppy
– Pippin
– Yuri
– Tom
– Bear
– Chocco
Upon arrival at Columbus Humane, they were placed in individual kennels, treated to breakfast, and will undergo assessments for any health concerns.
The transport was part of a broader evacuation effort; the van continued to the Cincinnati SPCA, carrying eight more dogs. While these dogs are not available for immediate adoption, interested individuals can check the adoption list on the Columbus Humane website for updates.
