Two fatalities and multiple injuries following car crash at Bronx intersection.

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two people are dead and several others injured after a car sped through an intersection in the Bronx on Friday afternoon.

Police responded to a 911 call about a collision at the intersection of Allerton Avenue and Holland Avenue around 2:14 p.m. Upon arrival, they found three pedestrians unconscious with significant injuries. Emergency Medical Services transported them to NYC Health and Hospital/Jacobi, where it was confirmed that two victims have died.

Witness footage shows a white Mercedes Benz accelerating from the curb on westbound Allerton Avenue and crashing through the Holland Avenue intersection, striking pedestrians and multiple vehicles.

The driver, an 81-year-old man, reportedly could not stop due to approaching stopped traffic. He rear-ended two vehicles before hitting two more. All six others involved were also treated at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and are listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made as the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad continues their investigation.
