Colwell Motors in Mason City is hosting a free car seat safety check event on October 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. This event, in partnership with Worth County Public Health and the Mason City Police Department, will feature four certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians who will help parents and caregivers inspect their car seats.
Inspections will check for correct installation, proper fit for the child’s age and size, and the correct adjustment of harnesses. Each inspection lasts about 30 minutes, and families are encouraged to reserve their spot online at carseatcheck-beige.vercel.app, though walk-ins are welcome.
The event will also have activities for kids, such as face painting, a bouncy house, and a visit from superheroes. Attendees can enter a drawing for a chance to win a free oil change or car detailing. Owner Blake Colwell emphasizes the importance of correct car seat installation for child safety, making this a valuable opportunity for families.
