Multi-Year Investigation Leads to Arrests in Fraud Case
Two individuals, Joshua Quinton Carradine (49) and Angela Bell Carradine (61), have been arrested following a lengthy investigation into alleged theft and fraudulent activities connected to their businesses, AJ Home Center and AJ Construction, which were previously based in Silver Springs.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reported that the alleged criminal activities spanned from April 2022 to February 2024, involving home purchases, construction agreements, and various financial transactions. Investigators have identified multiple victims across Nevada and California, with reported losses exceeding $1 million.
On September 25, 2023, a justice court issued nationwide arrest warrants for the Carradines, who each face 13 felony counts. These include five counts related to theft of property valued over $100,000, five counts for property valued between $25,000 and $100,000, and three counts for property valued from $5,000 to $25,000. Bail has been set at $100,000 for each.
The investigation was prompted by complaints received in June 2023, just after a suspicious fire destroyed the business location, also obliterating critical documents and records. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation in collaboration with the Nevada Housing Division and the Nevada Attorney General’s Office.
