Geoffrey Moore, the son of late James Bond legend Roger Moore, voiced concerns about the state of modern filmmaking, suggesting that Hollywood relies too heavily on recycled comic book narratives and extravagant special effects. In an interview with Fox News Digital, he emphasized the importance of originality and meaningful dialogue in cinema.
“I think that today, it’s too much TikTok,” he remarked, expressing frustration with conversations often based on social media trends rather than literature or genuine discourse. He believes that storytelling is crucial for cultural preservation and criticized the influence of studio executives who prioritize profit over artistic integrity.
Moore stars in the British spy thriller “Knightfall,” where he asserts that strong narratives and engaging dialogue are what truly captivate audiences, rather than constant action scenes. He highlighted the film’s effort to focus on storytelling without overwhelming viewers with excessive action sequences.
In a nod to contemporary audience preferences, Moore stated that “Knightfall” has a shorter runtime compared to the lengthy epics often released today, making it more suitable for viewers with busy lives. He shared that being on set was a physically demanding experience but also fulfilling, adding that acting had a refreshing appeal for him at this stage in his life.
Reflecting on his father’s legacy, Moore stated he recognizes the challenges of carrying on in the entertainment industry.
