NASA is announcing two new science and technology initiatives aimed at enhancing understanding and fostering innovation in space exploration. These initiatives coincide with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s “Golden Age Summit” and align with the Trump Administration’s goals outlined in a report titled Science: A New Golden Age.
-
Metascience Initiative: NASA will establish a metascience initiative within its Science Mission Directorate, focusing on improving the reliability and efficiency of scientific practices. This includes the introduction of dual anonymous peer reviews to evaluate scientific proposals impartially. This program, initially piloted during the Trump Administration, seeks to support innovative research effectively.
-
Genesis Mission Fellowships: Ten Genesis Mission Fellows will be selected—advanced doctoral students skilled in both super intelligence and science or engineering. These fellows will engage directly with NASA missions and conduct research in NASA laboratories, contributing to new discoveries.
NASA aims to inspire innovation and lead in scientific discovery through these initiatives. For more information about NASA science, visit NASA Science.
